Lipsticks generalized. They did not feature a mere pushing device any longer, but new mechanisms, combining plastic and metal, allowed the lipstick to come up. Volume started being considered. In addition to a large choice of shades, women wanted long wearing. Lipstick had to last all day; women put it on in the morning and were not willing to apply it again more than once in the day, after lunch. It was a new challenge for formulators. In 1995, “no tranfer” lipsticks became highly popular.
